So, if you've been around the Friar Tuck Design blog for a while now, you'd know that I started the One Room Challenge and got up to Week 6.
But then life happened. We shifted gears towards putting up sheet rock in the addition we're building that will be an in-law apartment for my dad.
Then, my amazingly talented husband took on a project where he built a counter from scratch for a local craft beer store.
This past week, we were FINALLY able to piece together the finishing touches to our entry way.
Before, the big reveal, let's take a trip down memory lane to see the "before":
These are the stairs leading up to the main level of our house.
And this is our teeny, tiny entry way. I bought this bench at a local antique and home decor store (Robin's Egg, for those in my neck of the woods), but there aren't any practical options for storage underneath. Don't worry, folks. I didn't get rid of this beautiful bench. It now sits at the front of my bed.
(My Chief Doggie Officer says hi!)
Now, here's the after!!!
Our new stairs!
My wonderful husband built this bench from scratch!
I finally got to use this wallpaper that I've had for almost 2 years!
And of course, a close-up shot of my free printable of William Morris' Strawberry Thief print.
I couldn't be happier with the finished result. I made a few tweaks along the way, like adding hooks from another local home decor and refinished furniture store (Revived Furniture and Home Decor, also for those of you near my neck of the woods). I also quickly realized that the baskets I initially selected should be too deep for my entry way and changed the plan for the built-in bench to have 2 rows of narrow baskets.
But, there you have it. My fully finished entry way! Don't worry, friends. I'm still working on plenty of projects around my home AND I'm going to be refinishing and selling furniture for yet ANOTHER local furniture and home decor store. I've got lots to share with you in the coming months! Until next time...
Happy Designing! - Angela :)
