$100 Room Challenge - Week 3

Updated: Jan 29

Is it just me or has the month of January flown by? I've been so busy that I never gave a Week 3 update in Week 3! Oh well, better late than never, right?

If you're playing catch up and need to read the previous posts, you can find them here: Week 1 Week 2

Now, onto the current progress! First up, is Shannon and her work space.

She's fully on board with the backdrop made out of PVC pipe. However, she has decided to go shopping at some local fabric stores vs. trying to order online. I definitely don't blame her. She's got 2 AMAZING fabric stores near her neck of the woods and if I wasn't over an hour away, I'd go shopping with her!

We also talked about additional storage for Shannon's workspace. She has some binders that she'd like to nicely store, but have easy access to when she needs them.

I suggested a storage cube like this one so she has one cube for her binders and the other she can get a fabric storage bin and store office supplies.

Shannon is a bargain hunter after my own heart and is going look for something on her town's Freecycle Facebook page. If your town/city has a Freecycle or Buy Nothing page, they're a great resource for either getting rid of items taking up space in your home OR looking for pieces to add. I personally have picked up some West Elm vases, a globe, a chandelier, and a giant Euro sized pillow form all from my town's Buy Nothing Facebook page.

Finally, Shannon is going utilizing one of the best tips I can give when it comes to decorating on a budget - shop in your own home! She has some artwork that is currently in her previous home office that her husband now works in that she's going to bring up to her new work space and display.

Now, on to Beth and her master bathroom. Let me tell you, she has been working so hard on painting now that her kiddos are back in school!

She's painted her walls, she's painted some Mason jars to use as storage, she painted over her tile with chalk paint, AND she did a cool weathered finish to her shelving unit. The jury is still out on whether she'll keep the green apple scrapbooking paper backing to the shelving. We'll wait and see how it looks with the valance I've made and will be delivering later this week.

Also, Beth found a mirror she absolutely LOVES for $32. That's a pretty good deal for a bathroom mirror, especially a more modern one. I scored mine on clearance from Target for $39.99, but she's got me beat!

Now all that's left for both Shannon and Beth are to tackle those finishing touches to their spaces. I can't wait to see the finished spaces. Stay tuned next week for the reveals!

And while you're here, you can check out my fellow $100 Room Challenge participants and see what they're up to now that we're so close to the end!

Until next time...

Happy Designing!
